Completed 2019
Charcoal, chalk, and acrylic on watercolor paper
The Sharpless 2-106 Nebula shows the death of a star that is blasting elements out into the universe, contributing to the creation of new stars and planets. I see this as an excellent metaphor for the obstacles I have experienced and the pressure I have felt at one point or another. They were all moments that have made me stronger and in a sense, have pushed me to redefine and refine my desirable, new reality.
Those experiences forced me to blast my wings out, like Sharpless 2-106, into Space and begin the development of new beginnings.
This piece represents the incredible energy you feel when you know you are about to change your life.
