June 2022 Newsletter

It has been a minute!

We have made it back to California and we are finally slowing down after being on the go since we first decided to put our house in Phoenix, Arizona up for sale back in March. (BIG DEEP BREATH)

A sketch from my last beach morning at one of my favorite home surf spots.

However, we are still in limbo living with family while waiting to move into our new home later this summer.

Some of you may already know, but we are now expecting a baby girl in early October! Hence, the quick move back to California, closer to some family and friends.

When we decided to move back, it was a quick decision, and I found myself sad to leave my comfy and efficient studio. We had put so much into building it, and I was able to have so many enjoyable hours working within those walls. Not only that, but I had a great routine and flow going!

It was a bit tough to leave behind. I know that the house's new owners really loved it, though, so at least I know it was left in good hands. (Not to mention they are probably enjoying all of our beautiful Pomegranates that decided to finally fruit this year!)

I have to say that I am really looking forward to having a designated space for my work again.

After we arrived back in California, it was tough to find my routine for a while. At first, a lot was going on to get organized while we did some house-hunting ... Surprisingly, we found a house pretty fast, and we just closed last week! We were lucky considering the crazy market these days!

While all of this was going on, I was getting antsy as I didn't have my usual space to work on my art and get things done. (I can get in a mood when I don't have anything to work on haha) Not only that, but I had a couple of weeks recovering from Covid. Not fun.

Now and until we move into our new house, I have a small set-up in my family's home where I can put myself away and work on rebuilding my routine, where I have an area to carry out fulfilling my orders, and I can work on new upcoming art. So I am pretty grateful to have that.

With that said, I really appreciate all of you who have stuck around and joined me on this wild journey, especially those who ordered artwork during this transition and had to wait an extra week to receive their pieces at times. You are legends, and your patience was incredibly appreciated.

I look forward to sharing new work with you soon ... including a fun little 100 piece project I will be working on ;)

More on that soon!

I hope you are all having a good start to June, and have a beautiful week!

Cheers!

Jill
