I used to be so scared of the blank paper and blank canvas. Sometimes I can still be hesitant when starting a new project, but for the most part now, I just start with a single stroke.
When I break it down and just commit myself to that first stroke or first layer, I can propel myself forward in the right direction. The upcoming project or task doesn’t seem so intimidating when I just give myself a little first step.
Focusing on what we want to achieve is great, but sometimes we scare ourselves by wanting to do it perfectly. The reality is, nothing is achieved with only perfection, it often is achieved by making mistakes along the way.
So, whatever it is you want to achieve today or this month or this year, just start with that first stroke and take it from there. Try to take it step by step and enjoy the journey as you go.
